Spring 2011 Jewellery Trends in Vogue
There are several spring 2011 jewellery trends which have changed the way one looks at jewellery. In fact, the conventional jewellery that we have seen for ages now is slowly giving way to some unconventional trends which have extended beyond just the material that is used for jewellery. The styles, shapes and colours are all pretty innovative making the spring 2011 jewellery trends something worth noticing.
One of the most important trends is the kind of colours that are finding their way into the jewellery being worn both by the younger people as well as the seniors. Unlike previous years where the brighter colours seemed to dominate the jewellery people picked, whether it was the earrings, rings or necklaces, this year has brought subtle colours to the fore. Colours like silver, grey, cloudy appearance, light pink, light brown etc. are getting as much importance as the more celebrated turquoise and green of sapphires and emeralds.
Sporty and playful jewellery is also in vogue when one thinks of spring 2011 jewellery trends. Fringe is one of the biggest trends this year whether it is a bracelet, necklace and earrings. Those long hanging pieces with bold colours that were popularised by Chanel and Dior are very popular. The benefit of fringe jewellery is that they suit both formal and informal wear. Also geometric shapes are getting quite popular. These shapes include both linear as well as curvy shapes along with structural geometric patterns like ellipsoids and prismatic shapes. Another common trend that is quite popular especially amongst the younger folks is the necklace with big and bold gemstones sometimes with oversized chains. So there is a healthy balance between bold and subtle. Cut out designs, bib styles and drop metal strands are also quite popular jewellery trends that are doing the rounds at this point.
